Historic IMSA Firehawk Racing Series Competitition Race Car
1986 300ZX Turbo IMSA Firehawk endurance race car driven to victory by Parnelli Jones and G.S. Johnson in 1987 at the last professional IMSA race weekend held at Riverside prior to the track's demolition.
This is the original factory supplied race car as prepared by Hillcrest Engineering that won two of four races entered. The car won at Riverside and Road Atlanta. The car set a trap speed record of 136 MPH at Road Atlanta and a lap record of 143.610 (88.245 MPH) at Riverside.
The car was featured in numerous magazines and used as Firestone's ad car. Everything has been restored and rebuilt completely from the balanced and blueprinted engine to the Gleason Torsen rear end. Restoration was completed in 1990. The current owners have run the car in several Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Road Races where they have enjoyed a number of class wins.
